P.P. Arnold

Patricia Ann Cole, or P.P. Arnold, was born on October 3rd, 1946.

P.P. Started her entertainment career in 1965 as an Ikette in the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. She ditched the revue after a tour of England, deciding to take up residence at the advice of Mick Jagger. Seems she felt more comfortable as a black woman in England than in the US in the late 60’s. She has worked with the likes of Small Faces, Peter Gabriel, Boy George, Roger Waters, Rod Stewart and many more. She even worked on one of my personal favorites, The KLF’s White Room, a conceptual stadium house staple.

I first became aware of P.P. while watching Seven Psychopaths (2012) featuring her incredible rendition of The First Cut is the Deepest.

Terror Train premiered in 1980
