Hell’s Bells (1929)

On November 21st, 1929, Walt Disney released the animated short Hell’s Bells. 

It is the 4th in a series of 75 animated musical shorts entitled Silly Symphonies. 


The accompanying music used throughout the majority of the short is Funeral March of a Marionette by French composer Charles Gounod. This piece of music would later be used as the theme for the television series Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

The voice of Satan is provided by Walt Disney himself.
