 Ernest Thesiger was born on January 15th, 1879 in London.

Sex Pistols Last Stand

 On January 14th, 1978, at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, CA., Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious, Steve Jones and Paul Cook performed live for the last time together as the Sex Pistols.

After a one song encore of the Stooges “No Fun” Rotten’s last words were: “Ever get the feeling you been cheated? Good Night.”

By January 17th the band had separated with Rotten making an announcement the next day.

Angel

 On January 13th, 1984, Angel was released in US theaters.

Due to the success of Angel a sequel was cranked out and released in less than a year with much of the fictionally surviving cast returning with the main exception of Angel being played by Betsy Russell. It was said that Donna Wilkes didn’t accept the role due to salary restraints.

Avenging Angel

 Avenging Angel was released in US theaters on January 11th, 1985.

It is a sequel to 1984’s Angel starring Donna Wilkes. Avenging Angel was made in less than a year following the success of Angel. The sequel did not perform as well as the original.

Vic Mizzy

 Vic Mizzy was born on January 9th, 1916.

Throughout the 30’s and 40’s Mizzy wrote many songs including Doris Day’s 1945 hit “My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time”.

From the 60’s into the 70’s he began work in television and film including The Addams Family and Green Acres themes and the scores for a string of Don Knotts movies.

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966)

He wrote an anti-jaywalking public service jingle that featured his daughter (and singer/songwriter) Patty Keeler on vocals. The song was later covered on the They Might Be Giants childrens album No! (2002). The track is sung by TMBG’s John Flansburgh’s wife, Robin Goldwasser.
