Gloria Holden was born on September 5th, 1903.
Best known for her role as Countess Marya Zaleska in “Dracula’s Daughter” (1936) a direct sequel to Dracula starring Bela Lugosi.
The script was possibly based on a deleted chapter from Bram Stoker’s Dracula written in 1897. It was published in 1914 after Stoker’s death as a short story entitled “Dracula’s Guest”.
It is also said that it could be loosely based on a gothic novella from 1872 entitled “Carmilla” written by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu.
