Robert Siodmak

 Robert Siodmak was born on August 8th, 1900 in Dresden, Germany.  

He is the older brother of novelist and screenwriter Curt Siodmak.

The script was possibly based on a deleted chapter from Bram Stoker’s Dracula written in 1897. It was published in 1914 after Stoker’s death as a short story entitled “Dracula’s Guest”.

It is also said that it could be loosely based on a gothic novella from 1872 entitled “Carmilla” written by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu.
