It was released regionally the next day and nationwide 20 days later on Christmas Day.

Debra Hill

 Debra Hill was born in Haddonfield, NJ on November 10th, 1950. 

Debra Hill (1950-2005)

The producer and writer worked on many classic films such as The Dead Zone (1983), Clue, Adventures in Babysitting and Big Top Pee Wee.

She often collaborated with John Carpenter on films such as Escape From New York, Escape from LA and The Fog (1980). Together they developed the original Halloween film as co-writer’s and Hill produced the first three movies of the franchise.

Written, directed and scored by John Carpenter for a mere $10,000 / 10% profit. Co-written by producer and frequent collaborator Debra Hill. Edited by Tommy Lee Wallace.

Starring Donald Pleasence, P.J. Soles, Nancy Loomis and Jamie Lee Curtis in her debut role. 



Will Sandin plays a young, unmasked Michael at the beginning of the movie. Nick Castle stars as The Shape (or masked Michael Myers) and Tony Moran (Erin Moran’s brother) as unmasked Michael at the end of the movie. Tommy Lee Wallace also appears as Michael in the closet scene.
